If blue is one of your favourite colours or you\u2019re working on a room with a blue theme, your mind might be turning to blue blinds to match up with your d\u00e9cor and your interests. \u201cBlue\u201d is of course a colour that encompasses a great many shades and tones, ranging from rich and purple-y at one end of the spectrum, through true blues both light and dark, to green-y teal blues going out on the other side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But if you\u2019re still not sure on what colour blinds you want and are looking for colour inspiration or wondering what blue blinds are good for or whether or not they\u2019re the right choice for you, you probably came here to get an answer to my title question of \u201cwhy choose blue blinds?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Blue blinds can be made in a range of different styles and as mentioned, shades; and when you add in different textures, materials, and finishes, you have literally thousands of potential options for blue blinds to suit more or less any look.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This blog post will tell you why you might want to choose blue blinds for different rooms, and share some information on the types of blinds that can be made in blue colours, and the sort of styles that blue lends itself well to as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why choose blue blinds?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Blue is a versatile primary colour that can appear in shades from traditional and muted to neon and bright, meaning that it can fit into any home and style from a traditional period property<\/a> to an ultramodern city apartment pod.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Blue tends to be thought of as a soothing colour and one that lends itself to imagination and creativity; compared to something like say, red that is bold and possibly either energising or overly aggressive, or something that may be a little busy or vivid to look at, like yellow or orange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This means that blue is a versatile colour for blinds for quite a wide range of different rooms and uses, as well as of course, designs and styles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There\u2019s not really a theme or design that some form of blue blind won\u2019t fit in with, if you pick the right shade of blue on the right type of blind. Even very minimalistic rooms that may be themed largely in white tend to incorporate an accent or theme colour, and any bold or deep blue would work well with this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some room themes and styles very obviously have blue involved in them; such as a nautical theme or seaside-y theme of the type that\u2019s really popular in bathrooms. These are just the blindingly obvious applications, but your only limit is your imagination!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One thing I do want to mention to get any misconceptions about blue as a blinds colour out of the way is the myth that blue is a cold colour. Many of us picked up this false wisdom up from school, the very binary concept that blue and associated colours are cold or cool, and that red and orange and so on are warm. This is fake news. You can get warm-toned blues just as you can get cool-toned reds!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What type of blinds come in blue?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

All of the obvious candidates like roller blinds can be made from blue fabrics<\/a>, as can Roman blinds (which usually come in textured, patterned, or finely detailed fabrics that may involve more than one colour within it), plus some other blinds types that might not be so obvious in terms of having colour choices like blue available for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vertical blinds can be made from blue fabrics<\/a>, day and night blinds with the opaque stripe in blue is also possible, and enamel-painted aluminium blinds can be coloured blue too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even some wooden blinds can be painted in a blue finish; which is basically all of your different mainstream blinds choices, so ultimately any blind can be finished in blue if you want it to be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What rooms suit blue blinds?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There are no \u201cbad\u201d rooms for blue blinds, but blue does lend itself very well to some rooms in particular. For my money, these rooms are the bedrooms of both children and adults, bathrooms, and home offices. Why choose blue blinds for each of these rooms? I have given a short summary to explain my logic for each of them below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why choose blue blinds for a bedroom?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Blue is one of the most popular colour choices for bedroom blinds, because it is a colour many people associate with rest, sleep, and the night sky.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dark blue blinds will also occlude a lot of the external light and give it a muted glow, which might be the effect you like if you\u2019re not a fan of blackout blinds but also don\u2019t want to be woken up by the glaring sun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why choose blue blinds for a child\u2019s bedroom?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The fact that blue blinds can be very calming and restful also make them a good pick for children\u2019s rooms, particularly if avoiding getting your children revved up right before bedtime is high on your agenda as a parent!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s also a versatile colour to support themes, from outer space and the night sky to anything involving a sky scape (such as if you have a wall mural or painted ceiling) and many character favourites and superheroes that kids like have a blue theme within their outfits and logos too!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why choose blue blinds for a bathroom?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Aside from white and neutrals, blue is probably the most popular choice of colour for bathrooms, because it works with any nautical or water-based theme, goes well with white fixtures and fittings like many bathrooms have, and once more, is relaxing and easy on the eye if you\u2019re planning to do a lot of lounging around in the bath.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why choose blue blinds for a home office?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Finally, one that might seem less obvious is the choice of blue blinds for a home office. Why choose blue blinds for a home office? Again, because the depth, neutrality, and calmative nature of blue helps to aid concentration, and also supports the periods of relaxation that we all really should take more often when working from home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s a sound choice too if you need to pick blinds for a home office that can also be closed to double as your backdrop for work Zoom calls, without being likely to clash with whatever you happen to be wearing at the time!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
