Is it worth it to repair blinds<\/a>? This sort of depends on what kind of fix is needed, whether said fix is even possible, and what you want to achieve. If the issue is purely a functional one that you can fix effectively and reasonably simply to get your blind back up to full speed, then it is definitely worth it, particularly for a minor fault like an issue with a control cord that can be swapped for a new one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If that\u2019s not going to be an option at all or not going to provide you with the end result you want, it may be time to get a new set instead. How to tell whether or not repairing your blinds in different scenarios is an option is something I\u2019ll explain within this post; and I\u2019ll finish off then with a quick look at the factors that dictate the answer to \u201chow much do blinds cost to replace\u201d then too, in case that\u2019s not an option!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is it worth it to repair blinds if the chains or weights have failed on a set of verticals?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Yes, quite possibly. Broken weights and chains on vertical blinds are an easy and worthwhile fix for most people (depending on the age of the blinds and so, availability of the right fittings) albeit you\u2019re highly unlikely to be able to source replacement parts or spares for mass-produced readymade blinds, which simply aren\u2019t designed to be repaired cost-effectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is it worth it to repair vertical blind louvres?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Vertical blind louvres can also be replaced if the mechanisms and headrail themselves are all good, and this is ultimately a very economical way to pretty much get, or appear to have got, a brand-new blind at a fraction of the cost!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is it worth it to repair blinds if the problem is damaged slats on Venetian, wood, or faux-wood blinds?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Probably not. If you\u2019ve got a slats problem on any type of Venetian blind; aluminium, wood, or faux-wood, this is not usually an easy (or even possible) fix. Additionally, even if your blind hasn\u2019t noticeably faded by this point, you might find that the addition of a brand-new slat in a row of older ones might reveal that it in fact has, and your new slat sticks out like a sore thumb and makes the whole rest of the blind look even worse than it did before!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is it worth it to replace faulty roman and roller blind operators?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you\u2019ve got a faulty operator that is preventing your roman or roller blinds from moving up and down correctly, or moving at all, you may be able to get a replacement from the manufacturer. This will depend on the age of your blinds as component designs are updated over time. If you can get hold of one, it\u2019s a relatively easy job to swap the old over for a new one. So yes, it is worth it if the rest of the blind is in good condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is it worth it to repair blinds if the fabric has torn or faded?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Again, probably not. When it comes to roller blinds and Roman blinds, if the fabric becomes torn or discoloured, getting and replacing the fabric for these sourced and then onto an existing mechanism is highly unlikely to be either possible, or cost effective if it was.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How much do blinds cost to replace?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This depends on the type of blind, but essentially, a replacement blind is apt to cost the same as a brand-new blind for a first-time application.
